The GSS6560 12-channel GPS Simulation System offers full user control of scenario creation and data analysis, making it ideally suited for use in a research and development or product development environment.
The GSS6560 is supplied, pre-installed with Spirent’s SimGEN for Windows® software suite. SimGEN offers complete flexibility and scenario definition capability in an intuitive Windows-based environment.
Applications
The GSS6560 is a very powerful and flexible test tool for all GPS L1 C/A code applications. Example application areas where this product is regularly used:
Automotive: The GSS6560 may be integrated with Spirent’s DR/inertial sensor simulation option (SimAUTO). This system is widely used in telematics and IVNS test applications. SimAUTO simulates car motion sensors such as wheel ticks and gyros coherently with the GPS RF. Turntable support is available for navigation systems with embedded inertial sensors where the unit under test has to be physically turned.
Civil Aviation: The GSS6560 includes SBAS (WAAS, EGNOS, MSAS) simulation as well as GPS L1. A Local Area Augmentation System (LAAS) VHF signal generator for correction messages is also available and may be integrated with the GSSS6560.
Location Based Services: The GSS6560 may be used as a stand-alone simulation system or offered as an integrated handset GPS + network test solution. Spirent offers comprehensive A-GPS test systems for performance testing the entire handset environment as well as testing to the standard minimum performance standard test cases.
Space Systems: Spirent’s systems offer specific features for space-based simulation including special atmospheric models and the ability to orbit beyond the GPS satellites MEO. All this is modeled in Spirent’s systems. In addition, remote orbit motion trajectories can be readily accepted by the GSS6560.
